I conducted routine care such as diapering, napping, feeding time and assisted the host teacher in indoor and outdoor activities for the Playgroup children. Therefore from this experience, I learnt to be observant and responsible while assisting the host teachers.

Language and Literacy: Show and Tell
I conducted a Show and Tell session where children had to share about about their favourite transport to the class. I set rules to set the environment a safe and caring space to present. I wrote some guiding questions on the board based on their reading ability skills. Therefore, my reliable disposition in setting the atmosphere and my faciliation in the activity was stongly emphasised which allowed children to showcase their confidence in sharing their thoughts to their friends.
Early Numeracy: Shapes
​I conducted Early Numeracy Lesson on Shapes which involved an interactive segment where children shared the shapes they know. I ensured every child had the opportunity to answer. This introduction activity allowed me to be observant and look out for children who needed more assistant during the activity

Creating a book on HandWashing
I designed and implemented a lesson where children had to create a book on handwashing as a class. I observed and analysed children weakness which was the lack of motivation for writing. Therefore, I added a fun element where children get to design their own book with their own creativity, motivating them to write. I demonstrated the ability to incoportae children interests in reading books to overcome their weakness of the lack of motivation to write.
Music and Movmenet Story
I designed and implemted a rhythm movement story where children moved to different animals according to the rhythm vocalised by the teacher and the tambourine. From this lesson, I emphasised on my expressions while reading and leading the story giving children opportunities to be imaginative and creative. I learnt to adapt, manage and incorporate incidental teachings and modified the story on the spot based on children's interests. For instance, I gave children the opportunity to lead the story which was a suggestion from a child. I managed the attention of the class by modifying the storyline to divert back their attention too.

Virtual Tour: Singapore Botanics Garden Learning Forest
Due to COVID19, I designed and implemented a virtual tour for the children to observe and learn about the plants and flowers at Botanics Garden Learning Forest. To make the experience more authentic and engaging for children, I used my knowledge in media literacy to search for informative video of Singapore Botanics Garden Learning Forest for children to gain knowledge of the different plants and flowers from an expert. I also desgined questions using the kahoot application to check on children's understanding of the video. I desgined, collated and printed pictures and pasted them around the environment and played an appropirate music to suit the environment when children walked around. From this virtual tour, detailed planning and organisation was involved to cover the concept over the 2-3 days such as having post field trip activities. Moreover, I learnt to design proper questions to faciliate children's thinking throughout the tour period.
Resources
I created a shapes board game, riddle and tree model and who,why,how handwashing board with and a visual germs model. I designed different types of teaching aids for children. From my resources, I was able to design board games, hands on resources, small and large group use of the resources. I used my analytical skills to understand children's capabilities and made decisions to design the resources appropriately such as using visual prompts due to their reading abilities. I learnt about creative resuse when desiging materials such as reusing cardboards when creating resources to emphasise on sustainable classroom materials which was an advantage for me as I did not spend alot on materials. Therefore, I valued recycling from this experience.
Home School Partnerships
I implemented 2 take home activities which were creating a seeded and seedless fruit charts and playing a beginning letter sound game with families. I designed questions to guide parents in facilitating children's thoughts while compleitng the activities. I communicated with the parents using the school's application and also used my technological skills to design the google forms to receive feedbacks from parents. I ensured my writing skills were clear and simple for parents to understand while desiging the forms for them. From this experience, I ensured detailed planning, proper delivery of information and sharing of knowledge to parents to motivate them in completeing the activities with their children.
